Upper Indian Bottom Prince Georges Co. Patent 2218 for 200 acres (Red outline) was patented to John Hamblin/Hamilton in 1742 . In Washington County Deed (E-125 1786) for 200 acres it states, John Hamilton did contract to sell the land to Thomas Ford, but died before the conveyance was made. It further states Thomas Ford made a contract to sell the 200 acres to his son James Ford, but Thomas Ford also died before the conveyance was made.
John Hamilton died leaving children James & Catherine Hamilton. James Hamilton also died which left the land to Catherine Hamilton. Catherine Hamilton married James Chambers and resided in Franklin County PA. In the 1786 deed James Ford paid 100 pounds to James & Catherine Chambers.
James Ford bought additional land from Lancelot Jacques (Part of Rockey Neck) and in 1793 patented the tract Horse Shoe Washington Co. 447 for 326.5 acres (Yellow outline). In Washington County Deed (EE-240 1819) it states, Henry Ford sold the land to Michael Smith, which was obtained by Henry Ford from the will of his father James Ford.
