Middletown (Frederick County) was laid out in 1767 by Michael Jesserong (Tavern Keeper). The town consisted of 32 lots 66′ x 330′. In 1768 Michael Jesserong sold the lots and ground rents to Conrad Crone who continued to develop the town.
