Dr. Arthur G. Tracey Patent & Tract Index consist of handwritten index cards for tracts located in Carroll, Frederick & Washington County. Along with tract information is a map guide number (Ex. CFW F-75) which allows you to locate the general location of the tract in the county.
To access the guide number maps in the Tracey site. Go down to where it shows Images 10-27: CFW (Carroll, Frederick, Washington) Key, “Location of patents issued before the end of the year 1756.” Click on this link and then go to the Jump to page block and enter 12 and click Go. Pages 12-13 cover the needed area for the tracts listed.
